February 27, 2012
Hey all you family and friends!!

How was your week? To be honest mine wasn't very exciting, but a few
miracles did happen! It was a pretty good week though! I of course
will tell you all the exciting details of my fairly boring missionary
life...
So Tuesday...it was a good day...so we had Zone Conference!! It was so
good, even though it was so long! It was all about faith and how we
can increase our personal faith! I have learned so much about faith on
my mission and what it really is and how we show our faith! It is
amazing! So for zone conference we were supposed to study all the
references to faith in the Topical Guide...there are a ton...but if
you ever have some spare time...I 100% reccommend doing it! You will
learn a lot! So that was a really good conference and then we had a
few lessons that evening with the wonderful Blomfield family and then
Ryan and Amanda's family. They are great!
Wednesday was our service and such and then we had a lesson with
Tara-Anne. So we asked her if she really had a desire to know if the
things we are teaching her are true and basically she told us she
didn't...so I don't know what we are going to do there...but then when
we invited her to be baptized she said maybe closer to her
birthday...which is at the end of March...I don't understand...why
would you want to be baptized if you don't care if the Church is
true...anyways the rest of that day wasn't very exciting we just did
some stop-bys and had a couple member lessons.
Thursday we had another training! We had lots of meetings this week!
This was a super good training too! It was all about Grace and Pride.
We all studied Ezra Taft Benson's "Beware of Pride" talk and it is a
super good talk...if you haven't ever read it...go read it! After that
training we had a couple lessons mixed in with a little bit of weekly
planning. That night we taught Mark and Tara-Anne. We decided to watch
the Restoration with them. We did a spirit rec before we watched it
and told them to pay attention to how they feel...so at the end we had
this conversation with Mark: "So Mark how do you feel right now?" "I
feel nice." "Why do you think you feel nice?" "Because of the Holy
Spirit..." "Yes...and what does the Holy Spirit tell us?" "That the
church is true..." "Exactly...so will you be baptized?" "Um...No
thanks..." What is this kids deal??? He totally know that the church
is true, but he won't commit!! We don't know what we are going to do
about them! That night the ZL's called us and told us they had an
investigator for us! So it is a 10 yr old boy Jiro and is mom is a LA
member, her name is Danya. They are from Guatemala and are great!! But
more on them in a minute...
Friday wasn't a very exciting day. We just did service and then we had
to finish our weekly planning. We had dinner with a really nice older
lady from South Africa and she is great! She had lots of stories to
tell us! Also fun fact...we 7DC a family about a week ago and they had
a YSA aged son...but he said he had some friends he would invite to
take the lessons...He did and they are now investigators of the YSA
Elders!! So that was neat to actually see something come out of a
7DC...that needs to happen more often...
So then we are to Saturday...Well winter is back in Canada...it has
been freezing cold since Saturday and I DO NOT love it!! We didn't
really have anything going on so we did a lot of stop-bys. We met Jiro
and Danya that afternoon and introduced them to the Cooper's who were
going to take them to church on Sunday...they were so excited and they
are great! I think I forgot to mention that Jiro has a baptismal date
for March 17...so that was fun. We had a correlation meeting and then
a few member lessons that night.
Sunday was church and it was going to be great!! Well it was great,
but Jiro and Danya didn't come to church! The Cooper's went to pick
them up and they didn't answer their door...we called them and got no
answer...I don't know what happened because they were so excited to
come!! But other than that our Sunday was just normal with church and
a couple meetings and some lessons!
My week wasn't very exciting...but it was a good one! So I hope you
all have a great week this week! Can you believe it is already March??
I have been on my mission for 6 months!! That is crazy!! Well thanks
for all your love and support! You are all so great!! I love you a
whole bunch...and miss you a lot too...

Love, Sister Kaitlyn Marchant

Pictures...
1- Me and all the water bottles...I don't remember if I told you
Sister Brower and I decided to set a new goal to drink 64 oz of water
a day...the first few days were brutal....but it isn't as bad
anymore...so these are all our waterbottles...and now we bought bigger
ones so it doesn't seem like we have to drink as much...
2- This is our puzzle...to be obedient we only work on it during our
lunch break and after 9:30 at night...but we got this much done in a
week...it is a really hard one...you would love it mom!!
3- Our headband things that a member made for us...
